I am excited to build this amazing photography website.  I can finally show and share my work.  Thank you for this Digital Art & Design Class.

I choose my best friend in the entire world.  This is my boyfriend when he was a child.  And I retouched the photo and restored as much as I was able to.

I revised and choose a better photo.  Here is me before any touches.  And here is me as an avatar.

Here is my before and after photo.  The photo is of my best who is more like a sister.  I tried to save in psd. format and it did or will not allow me to upload to the blog.  I did compress it.  Here are the steps I did to do the avatar way.  I used layer, twice.  Also, I used hue/saturation, redder and pigmentation.  It shows in the photo we are more redskin completion which made it more fun.  I also used channels and colors.  I guess you see I love colors and how you can change or person look and have so much fun with it.

I choose this photo for many reasons.  This is one of my best friends who is like a sister to me than anything else.  There is a lot of details that I will attempt to use the avatar effects and the techniques.  Let us see how this goes!

M4 -CP Book Cover Design (Part I)

I read this book in 2007 when it came it.  It was written by Trisha R. Thomas an African-American woman.  It is currently on Netflix which the actress Sanaa Lathan plays.
 The book is about a women name Venus Johnson, she has a great job, a live-in boyfriend who is a doctor.  But instead, she is living a major lie.  She never lets her man see her in her natural way.  Her hair is always press and curls to the point he does not see any flaws in her. 
Until one day it breaks down.  He comes home one day and she thinks he is going to pop the question of marriage.  Instead, he brings home a puppy.  She accepts it.  And later that night she screams, and she gets a razor and cuts all of her hair off.  That morning she kicks him out.
She decides to live her life more freely and she becomes much happier than ever.

The Black Women Hair - Book Cover Design

I choose this book for a very particular reason.  I read this book and how the character Venus Johnsons trying to blend into American "corporate America".  Every little black girl mother made sure her hair was press and comb looking great so hair is straight and not showing the real texture of the hair.

It shows the relationship she is having with her hair.  Day in day night.  It's even impossible for her to keep the lies her keep her appearance with her boyfriend who she is living with.

And then finally she decides to break the cord.  Where she cuts off all her hair, of course, her mother is upset but she decides she needed to stop lying to herself and accept her hair and stop having the relationship with the hair.

I took this cover and I used the "The Role of Sketching in the Design Process."  I did you the adobe photoshop CS.  I used and the following filters which were exposed, saturated, cropping curves, hues and photo filters.  I was able to enhance the coloring of the book cover. I was trying to do laying but it was not working for me to use two types of the book cover.

I choose "The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson."  I have never been into scary movies. But the thing I do like scary movies and books is the graphic colors and vibrant colors to attract the viewers.

M3 CP Awareness Poster ~ Sexual Harassment

Well, I choose sexual harassment but in a different form.  We are living in an age of sex-texting. How far can it go?  Now we work in a work environment is about the cell phone or email.

The manager can text you all hours of the night and send you sexual explicit messages. How do you respond, how can this affect my job and third do I tell my spouse or partner? 

One of the things you may be able to do.  Don't respond to sex-texting, another save the message.  When has it gotten to the point you have to protect yourself with your cell phone.  There are now organizations and groups that can help both men and women.

Sexual Harrassment - Me Too Movement

Sexual Harassment has been around since 1920s.  The women during that time period and to fight to serve.  They did not have the rights.  Not until 1964.  Even now in 2019 is still happening and when it does happen you are being judged. Now that we have twitter as a social media platform it is helping women who are dealing with sexual harassment which is a form of bullying, sexual advances and more.

As we are aware sexual harassment is happening is so many different forms and it is the biggest type of bullying but not verbal.  The three figures and showing it happened to each of them but different ways.  1) is non-verbal 2) verbal 3) both together.  They are three different women from different cultures and background but they have been through sexual harassment.

This is something I feel this is personal.  The reason is I was a victim of it at work and now we hearing or seeing more and more people who have been sexually harassed by politicians, actors and CEO's and your co-workers and bosses.  Where can we be safe again?
